A bunch of beings trying to survive in a broken clock

General Throughline

Further Note

I don't recommend reading this entry because it is a horrible way to be introduced to Chimeric. It's not that high concept as this entry makes it out to be, and this barely has any bearing on the stories themselves. At most, it's more throwing ideas for flavor than anything, for the fantastical aspect I'm aiming towards.

The Short

The throughline is the daemons getting 12 heroes within a sphere, or region of spheres, and all the stories follow the 12 heroes or potential ones to declare.

Background

The framing is meant to leave a lot questions since the general theme is about hope not immediately there, and in the enigmatic nature of the clock and it daemons, 12 is seen as a special number, and will continue to prop it and its iterations wherever they can, and heroes are the most valued. Does the number 12 actually do anything? No, or not that anyone but the clock knows, hence "not immediately there."

Despite the arcing purpose, daemons try to be behind the curtains most of the time, unwilling to show what exactly goes on, and so a lot is left to discordant tales following those they see as the 12 heroes. Any deeper glimpses the curious take into their world only sinks them lower into it and all that awaits. Mechanically, this is more of backdrop than anything, meant for tying things together down the line.
